It is there in the ether, in our hearts, minds, spirits and souls. It is there waiting to be our counsel, our strength, our wisdom, our guardian, our company.

Thus, you were right to FEEL your mother's presence. We'd bring bread to feed the pigeons, wild hens and peacocks. There were certain places we'd climb to that were the girl's secret hiding places.

Glad you went to a place like that, and glad you were able to recapture a little of the magic.Osohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09513535195785731541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6325219138869173743.post-85792021533050898552010-05-09T21:00:49.422-04:002010-05-09T21:00:49.422-04:00"I call front seat!", Casey yelled as sh..."I call front seat!", Casey yelled as she ran out the door and to the car, with Xavier trying to get his last shoe on to beat her to it.

Too late! She won - that time.

Off we were to spend Mother's Day afternoon at our nearby botanical gardens, all three of us laughing and the kids cracking one joke after another at each others expense. Their behavior jetted me back to memories of their younger days. It was wonderful.

We strolled, teased, talked, enjoyed the trees, ponds, turtles, geese and flowers. Xavier beat her out of the front seat on the way back, we laughed some more, and this was followed by a home cooked seafood dinner.

It's been the perfect day.Kit (Keep It Trill)https://www.blogger.com/profile/03027769872237001801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6325219138869173743.post-87949584058902192512010-05-09T10:19:58.455-04:002010-05-09T10:19:58.455-04:00Happy Mothers Day Kit,

I watch Armageddon whenever it comes on, and when the scene comes at the end with the little girl being pushed on the swing I sit in front of the TV sobbing, then call my big girl. Her reaction is generally "Armageddon huh?".

I hope it's a nice slow peaceful day for you.Osohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09513535195785731541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6325219138869173743.post-58650009222191567182010-05-09T07:58:19.142-04:002010-05-09T07:58:19.142-04:00Kit, Happy Mothers Day...I need sunshine from hea...Kit, Happy Mothers Day...I need sunshine from heaven today.Ann Brockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10273380949544392923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6325219138869173743.post-2750174898392080782010-05-08T21:45:46.562-04:002010-05-08T21:45:46.562-04:00BGIM, Sorry to be laughing, but the losing your mi...BGIM, Sorry to be laughing, but the losing your mind comment caught me off guard.

Whew.

Yes. I am thankful for my own kids but it also serves as a reminder that my Mama is gone.

Right now I am in the midst of what feels like a ritual, on her birthday and on Mother's Day I allow the tears to flow freely.

I had briefly read the other post but had just come back to re-read and comment on it...so I am glad you mentioned that you took it down or else I would have thought I was losing my mind.

Enjoy your Mother's Day and be gentle with yourself.Blackgirlinmainehttp://blackgirlinmaine.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6325219138869173743.post-20334392977899612252010-05-08T21:33:12.397-04:002010-05-08T21:33:12.397-04:00Reggie, Thanks, and thanks for sharing.Reggie, Thanks, and thanks for sharing.Kit (Keep It Trill)https://www.blogger.com/profile/03027769872237001801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6325219138869173743.post-87696302100980188852010-05-08T19:18:06.772-04:002010-05-08T19:18:06.772-04:00Yes indeed KIT, this is still beautiful; even if y...Yes indeed KIT, this is still beautiful; even if you opted to take down the other one.

It's the opposite for me. I start thinking of my father on Mother's Day (he's been gone for 17 years now) and whenever I call my mother at some point she and I will talk about him. Father's Day is always depressing to me, no matter how much attention my children shower me with. As much as I love them, I seem to miss my own father more.Reggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02228963124180428762noreply@blogger.com
