I thought of running a story on this morning and actually got started, but I didn't; I generally avoid sensational stories that make us look bad as a race since the media already overloads the channels with this.

If I do run something like this, I'll have to do some research and include with other stories because mental illness, like crime, strikes all groups.Kit (Keep It Trill)https://www.blogger.com/profile/03027769872237001801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6325219138869173743.post-11442445165996957742008-07-21T18:30:00.000-04:002008-07-21T18:30:00.000-04:00In going through your blog I wondered if you heard...In going through your blog I wondered if you heard about this latest story:
http://areallmotherscreatedequal.blogspot.com/2008/07/black-women-and-mental-illness.htmlher motherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04948001332516990630noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6325219138869173743.post-74193068467356652272008-05-26T15:36:00.000-04:002008-05-26T15:36:00.000-04:00Thanks, Anonymous. Yes, I agree there's always a danger of misunderstanding and sometimes, rejection, when people from two different cultures are in a therapeutic setting. My son fortunately had several excellent white therapists to counter-balance the few who were incompetent and/or prejudiced, along with that great black male psychiatrist. I feel sorry for people who never had good experiences, for they are often left cynical of therapy or more scarred.Kit (Keep It Trill)https://www.blogger.com/profile/03027769872237001801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6325219138869173743.post-50010997024211016362008-05-26T08:48:00.000-04:002008-05-26T08:48:00.000-04:00Interesting Blog!!As I was reading it two names ke...Interesting Blog!!

As I was reading it two names kept coming to mind. Neely Fuller Jr. and Dr. Frances Cress-Welsing. Some aspects of your and your son's experience regarding RACISM-white supremacy seems to fit well within their racial framework and theories. Just following the logic...

Nevertheless, I could be incorrect.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
